Battle of the Year: Battle of the Year attracts all the best teams from around the world, but the Americans haven't won in fifteen years. Dante enlists Blake to assemble a team of the best dancers and bring the Trophy back to America where it started. ~IMDb
My Thoughts: As one that have seen every movie from the Step Up series in theaters, it was quite refreshing to see a movie dedicated to B Boying and Hip-Hop. Now with that said, as a fan of art of dance, I thought the movie was great, a bit cheesy here and there, but it's a dance movie, there will always be cheesiness. Its not really that much for people to go see but the dancing. I can admit that I have only seen a couple of crews battle before, but I was quite impressed in with the choreography. I literally sat there thinking, Damn, that was sweet as hell, and WHAT, did they really just form Voltron <<--(yes an actual thought).
The music, man, you can never go wrong with classic Hip-Hop and classic B. Here are some of the songs that are not on the soundtrack. (Some, click the link to see the full list and soundtrack)

So here are somethings that I noticed through the movie.
Way to go Caity Lotz, that woman is pretty damn sexy.
Quest Crew, I see you!!
The appearance of the great digital divide, those that are not use to or update with technology compared to those that are. I mean it was just a tablet, OH, that it was sweet when he moved the movie from the tablet to the tv. I WANT ONE!!!!
Changing of the times and culture. I wonder how B Boys then feel about B Boys now. I wonder how the change in culture, being that where B Boying started (USA) but is not as prevalent in American Hip Hop.
I know this though, I understand the point of someone understanding who they are about to work with, but damn, just cause yall boys from way back, does not mean you just tell his life story to some new random dude. I mean, granted, they took some unnecessary time out by not giving him worthless anecdotes about his past.throughout the movie. I do appreciate it, for getting it out up front.
Oh and of course you could not go without the classic self destruction, team reflection, old friends turned rivals back to friends, and the infamous tragic moment. (Crowd goes awwwwwww)
All in all, in the ending, I really appreciated them not showing the final routines. You know since the whole damn movie was practice and team building, for me it was a good ending. The ending I will leave it at that.
